Welcome to DIY Weekly Shop. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our web application and services. By accessing or using DIY Weekly Shop, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our service.

1. Service Description

DIY Weekly Shop is a web-based application that helps users:

• Create and manage your shopping list
• Create, store, and manage personal recipes
• Access app-curated recipe collections
• Improve online shopping experience
• Sync data across multiple devices

2. User Accounts and Registration

Account Creation

To use DIY Weekly Shop, you must create an account through our authentication provider (Auth0). You may register using:

• Email and password
• Social authentication providers (Google, etc.)

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
• Providing accurate and complete registration information
• Keeping your account information up to date

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use DIY Weekly Shop. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian to use our service.

3. Subscription and Billing

Free Trial

New users are eligible for a 7-day free trial. The trial begins when you first subscribe to the service. At the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Subscription Billing

After your free trial, you will be charged a monthly subscription fee. By subscribing, you authorize us to:

• Charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis
• Automatically renew your subscription until you cancel
• Update pricing with 30 days' advance notice

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. By providing payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the payment method.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Account page or by contacting us at help@diyweeklyshop.co.uk. Upon cancellation:

• You will retain access until the end of your current billing period
• No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods

Refunds

We do not provide refunds for partial subscription periods. If you cancel during a billing cycle, you will continue to have access until the end of that cycle.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any laws or regulations in your jurisdiction
• Infringe upon the rights of others
• Transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the service
• Resell or redistribute the service without authorization
• Upload content that is offensive, defamatory, or infringes intellectual property rights

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to DIY Weekly Shop, including shopping lists, personal recipes, and recipe images. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Our Content

DIY Weekly Shop and its original content (excluding user content), features, and functionality are owned by DIY Weekly Shop and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our service without express permission.

6. Service Availability and Modifications

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee that:

• The service will be available at all times or without interruption
• The service will be error-free or secure
• Results obtained from the service will be accurate or reliable

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the service (or any part of it) at any time
• Impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the service
• Update these Terms from time to time

Maintenance

We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance that temporarily makes the service unavailable. We will attempt to provide advance notice when possible.

DIY Weekly Shop integrates with third-party services:

• Auth0 - Authentication and account management
• Stripe - Payment processing and subscription management
• Cloudflare - Web analytics

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, or policies of third-party services.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

Service Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DIY WEEKLY SHOP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

• Your use or inability to use the service
• Unauthorized access to your data or account
• Errors, bugs, or viruses in the service

Recipe Disclaimer

Recipes provided through DIY Weekly Shop are for informational purposes only. We are not responsible for any adverse reactions, dietary issues, or food safety concerns resulting from recipes accessed through our service. Always check ingredients for allergens and follow safe food handling practices.

9. Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription and requesting account deletion at help@diyweeklyshop.co.uk.

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Fail to pay subscription fees
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Abuse or misuse the service

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. We will retain your data for 30 days after termination, after which it will be permanently deleted. No refunds will be provided upon termination.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be resolved through good faith negotiations. If negotiations fail, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify you via email or through the service for significant changes
• Provide 30 days' notice for material changes

Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. General Provisions

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DIY Weekly Shop regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements.

Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
